Class 3 2023 - 2024

Welcome back to the Summer term 2024 

Our topic this half term is ‘Colour’. In our English and Communication Sessions we will be reading ‘Dog’s Colourful Day’ by Emma Dodd all about a little dog who goes on an adventure and ends up covered in coloured spots! We will have lots of colour linked activities, tuff trays as well as working on our targets and workboxes.  

Our Maths topic this term is all about colour too; we will also look at time using lots of fun and messy ways to learn and explore whilst also working on our number targets.  

We will be looking at rainbows in science and Noah’s ark in RE, patterns and colour in art/computing.   

Super Ball Paul will be taking us for PE helping us to develop our ball skills and we will be visiting the park learning about ‘Stranger danger’ and being safe in the community. 

Key information  

• PE - Takes place on a Friday morning, please make sure the children have a PE kit in school for our session.  
• A spare set of clothes including socks and underwear/waterproof coat/wellies, so we are always prepared for whatever the weather brings us.  
• Snacks and/or lunch – Please make sure you have ordered a school lunch if appropriate.  
• Please let us know if there are any issues or useful information that will help us to care for your child via email the class 3 email (class3@hillside.lancs.sch.uk) or phone call.   
• Check your email each day for up to date messages and information about your child.
