Class 7 2023 - 2024
Mrs Kelly Strickland
Welcome back to the summer term 2024
Our topic this half term is ‘Fairgrounds’. During DT, the children will continue to develop their knowledge and understanding of health and safety in the kitchen, while creating a range of fairground recipes, including, hot dogs, popcorn and candy floss. The theme will continue throughout our Geography lessons, whereby the children will explore fairgrounds from around the world, investigating and contrasting the different climates.
In our English and communication sessions we will be reading a story called ‘Fairground’, which is about a fairground adventure, whereby the children will explore using all of their senses – smelling the wonderful smells, tasting the delicious treats, hearing the people and the music and watching the vibrant and colourful lights of the fair.
During Maths, we will continue to develop our number skills, working on addition and subtraction, and will explore properties of shapes through a variety of hands-on and practical activities.
Every day we will continue to work on our individual targets while also enjoying lots of fun and exciting ways to learn!
