Class 6 2023 - 2024

Our topic this half term is ‘The Circus’. This theme will be covered in all subjects across the curriculum in lots of different and exciting ways. The children will learn a circus themed dance in PE, create circus themed art using colour mixing techniques and will use a range of percussion instruments to produce sounds and circus themed music.

 

In our English and Communication Sessions we will be reading ‘The Singing Mermaid’ by Julia Donaldson. The story is all about a singing mermaid who joins the local circus so that she can share her talent with people from all around. The children will use their sense to explore different smells, foods, equipment and music which link to the circus and will even have a go at learning some circus skills themselves!

 

Our topic in Maths is ‘Shape’. Over the half term, the children will learn all about 2d and 3d shapes. They will complete a range of practical hands on activities which will help them to identify, name and match 2d and 3d shapes together. The children will even have the opportunity to go on shape hunts around the school environment to see if they can identify objects which represent different 2d and 3d shapes.

 

Everyday we will continue to work on our individual targets whilst enjoying lots of fun and exciting ways to learn.
